Modification Instructions-
Adaptation of the standard human Heart Rate Monitor strip style transmitter for use with a saddled horse.
This Kit will work with any and all Human strip chest belt Style transmitters from any manufacturer. Including the GARMIN 301/305.
The kit consists of:
2 small STICK-ON electrodes. Applied to the contact electrode on the strip transmitter.
2 short pig-tail lead wires, connected to the STICK-ON EKG electrode attached to the transmitter.
2 lead wires - one coiled and straight, the standard ekg lead wires
2 EKG silicon rubber electrodes for use under the saddle and girth
Two sections heat shrink tubing

PROPER PLACEMENT OF ELECTRODES - UNDERNEATH SADDLE The proper placement of the electrodes, is important. In the first picture below, you see the shorter electrode, is located just behind the withers, I place mine on the left hand side of the horse. The second picture has the longer electrode, located on the right hand side of the horse, towards the bottom of the girth area. This is the best placement for electrodes, underneath your saddle. |
